Merry Christmas (and Happy Holidays) from Musipus!

It's that time of year again, so I figured I'd share some of what the SoundCloud community has released for the holiday season. Kaskade has given us a modern spin on Frank Sinatra's "Mistletoe and Holly," PatrickReza dubbed out "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree," and trap god RL Grime gives his remix of "Mercy" a very unexpected Christmasy twist. Enjoy, and happy holidays!

Editor's Cut Vol. 9

Despite a short pause in posting due to finals week, musipus is going strong with an all new Editor's Cut, this time targeted toward a growing music trend known as "trap." The genre, led by groundbreakers such as Diplo, Flosstradamus, newcomers RL Grime and Luminox, and many more, is characterized by the sounds of early-to-late-2000's Southern rap. Somewhat of a modern spin on the 808 snares and heavy bass of the last decade's rap scene, trap is growing into more and more of a fixture in the electronic scene. These five tracks, along with Diplo's remix of "Sweet Nothing," were a few of what I considered the "must-haves" of the 2012 trap year. Enjoy.

Dream on Dreamer (Satin Jackets Reconstruction) - The Brand New Heavies

This one is long-overdue. German duo Satin Jackets are back at it with a new remix after their phenomenal original "You Make Me Feel Good" a couple months ago.

Lady (Hear Me Tonight) - Modjo

A classic from French house duo Modjo. It's an all-time favorite of mine, so I figured it deserved a post. This one's a throwback to the year 2000—better late than never. Enjoy.
